I've just emptied my garden trap and have got an Orange
Sallow. I am aware that Lord Solly has taken this species, but I think
that it is unusual enough to hang on to so that it is here if anyone else
wants to see it. I will be taking pix in the morning, along with the Deep
Brown Dart, so that Den can get them on the web page. (DW)

Despite a very warm night and not a lot of wind in my
garden It only produced 156 Moths of 15 Species, 40 Lesser Yellow Underwing,
56 Rush veneers, with a few other autumnal species the best moth of the night was Barred Sallow,(

Wednesday 1st October 2003
We are likely to struggle for any moth reports whilst the weather
continues to give high winds and cold, clear nights. There will obviously
be a few of the autumnal species on the wing locally, but the chances of
any significant migration are minimal whilst these conditions prevail.
I had a very tatty Scarce Bordered Straw and 13 Rush Veneers last night,
but little else to get excited about.
