Moths
have been a little slow of late, but then what can you expect after such a
fantastic summer? I had my 5th Convolvulus on 26th and went one better
with my 1st VESTAL ever in a UK trap last night! Not bad for a moffer
who's been trapping in East Kent since 1994 (Dylan

Dylan
had a Scarce Bordered Straw this was the best moth in his trap in his
Garden. Gadget had is 1st Pink-Barred Sallow in his garden also
his 13th Convolvulus Hawk Moth, this was the smallest one that
P-M & himself had ever seen Its about a 3rd smaller than

Thursday 25th

Did the moth trap at 07.30 and was not very surprised by the lack of
anything decent. 1 Black Rustic was about as good as it got. ( Dylan )

Hairs
had a few bits last night migrant wise:
4 Convolvulus Hawk-Moth,1 Striped Hawk-moth, 3 Dark Sword-grass, 2 Pearly
Underwing, 2 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Scarce Bordered Straw and 1 White
Speck.( The Hair )

the sallow were both in trap this morning - third and

Dumpton had another Convolvulus Hawk moth, In the garden
feeding No: (12) there is a small video in the Archives,
Also One of the
new lads to the mothing group Big Terry known as the (Windbreak) has his 1st
Convolvulus Hawk moth, in his trap last night, Congratulations
from us all the Thanet Lads.

Dumpton had another Convolvulus Hawk moth, last night which makes the Total
11 to Date: for his Garden. this one was not in the trap but in the bushes
being harassed by three wasps,
