Ramsgate
Overnight the catch consisted of a few micros
species as well as 3 Feathered Thorns plus singles of Turnip,
Lesser Yellow Underwing, Chestnut and Blair's Shoulder Knot.
The night previous there were: 1 Feathered Thorn, 1 Shuttle Shaped
Dart, 2 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Green Brindled Crescent,
1 Red Line Quaker and a Silver Y. Although seemingly very few
actual moths, these are unprecedented numbers for the time of year here. I
heard on the forecast yesterday that this mild weather could last for
another two weeks yet which could be interesting? (Phil M)

Wednesday 9th November 2011 Newington
Ramsgate
A veritable moth-fest overnight considering the
date and the awful concrete locality. 11 species taken must constitute a
record for a date approaching mid November ... the catch consisted of 4
White Shouldered House Moths, 1 Blastobasis decolorella,
c10 Light Brown Apple Moths, 1 Acleris sparsana, 1
Emmelina monodactyla, 1 November Moth, 2 Feathered
Thorn, 1 Shuttle Shaped Dart, 1 Large Yellow Underwing and
2 Silver Y. I did also catch a Red Green Carpet but that was a
re-capture form the night previous. (Phil M)
Tuesday 8th November 2011 Newington
Ramsgate
A smidgeon of migration was evident overnight
with singles of Diamond Back, Rusty Dot, Pearly Underwing
and Silver Y amongst a few other 'bits' which included a very tatty
Red Green Carpet (only my third ever here), 2 November Moths
and an Angle Shades. I am still catching moths every night,
occasional Large and Lesser Yellow Underwing, Green
Brindled Crescent, Large Wainscot etc also a Satellite on
the night of the 5th and a Brick on the night of the 3rd. (Phil M)
Tuesday 8th November

Tuesday 8th.November 2011 Eastry
A succession of mild and damp nights recently are still tempting a few
seasonal moths to the trap. November Moth species predominate with
Feathered Thorn, Green Brindled Crescent, Red-green Carpet and
Yellow-line Quaker. This morning however the first definite Autumnal
Moth for the year, and, if confirmed, the first Cypress Carpet
for the garden trap. Also three Silver Y, six Rusty Dot, and a
single Diamond Back, (Bill Martin)
Monday 7th November 2011 Pegwell Trap

night with the stiff northerly. At Pegwell just 2 November Moth, 2
Dark Chestnut, 5 Silver Y, 2 Diamond-backs and 1 LBAM.

1991! The other bits were: 1 Gem, 2 Mallow, 2 Red-green

Pegwell & Kingsgate trap
Night of 3/11. Virtually empty traps
last night thanks to the deluge – but a very pleasant surprise at Pegwell
was an Oak Rustic – if I kept a list, a long awaited addition! Also
there were 2 Merveille du Jour with a Gem and 2 Rusty Dots
at Kingsgate. (F Solly)
Friday 4th November 2011 Pegwell Village

Wednesday 2nd November
2011 Kingsgate & Pegwell Traps
Night of 1/11. A clear night so
little expectation – even more so after just one macro at Kingsgate. However

– unfortunately Pegwell will now be blown out for a while. 3 Mallow,

Tuesday 1st November 2011 Newington
Ramsgate
Night of October 31st: There are still quite a
few common species of moths coming to the traps due to these ridiculously
high night-time temperatures were enjoying. Last night there were - 1
Monopis obviella, 1 Blastobasis decolorella, 1
Rusty Dot, 1 Feathered Thorn, 1 Lesser Yellow Underwing, 3
Angle Shades, 1 Large Wainscot and 1 Silver Y. Recently
I've also caught up to 3 November Moths plus various other species
which have included Green Brindled Crescent on the 30th and a Pine
Carpet, a new species for the garden traps on the 25th. (Phil M)
