Friday 23rd February 2007 Pegwell Thanet
22/2. I checked my Phyllonorycter leaf mines
that had been collected during the autumn, just to see that they were
still in good condition and despite having kept them in an unheated
outbuilding was surprised to find that there had been a couple of
emergences. There were 2 rather stunning Phyllonorycter
strigulatella, collected from mines on Grey Alder leaves, Pegwell
Bay in November. A very scarce species in Kent I believe. (F Solly)
