A massive moth-fest over night! 2 Light Brown Apple Moths, 1 Winter Moth and yet and my second December Moth of this latest mild spell. Oooh I'm so happy! Other insects/arachnids/bits in the traps were as follows: 10 x Midge, 6 x Fly, 2 x Thingamy, 1 x Earwig, 1 x Caterpillar, 5 x Spider - inc a small False Widow looking thing, 1 x Queen Wasp and 3 x Wotsits. It's good isn't it? (Phil M) (losing the plot?)

Sunday 21st December 2008 Kingsgate & Pegwell Traps

Night of 20/12. At last moffs in the traps - my first and as it happens the last of the month, the traps now being switched off in anticipation of a dismal 2009. At Kingsgate 12 December Moths and 1 LBAM, whilst at Pegwell, a very late Spruce Carpet and a Chestnut. (F Solly)

Friday 19th December 2008 Newington Thanet

At last 2 moths came to the ever present MV lights in the garden overnight - the first things I've caught since a White-shouldered House Moth on the 4th of this month. The moths were singles of Light Brown Apple Moth and a nice December Moth. Other 'bits' included Fly, Midge, Lacewing, 2 Thingamy's, a wotsit and 3 wotsisnames. (Phil M)

Wednesday 3rd December 2008 Westgate Thanet

I haven’t had my trap on for weeks so haven’t seen anything outside recently, but I was walking upstairs in my home this afternoon and noticed a Buttoned Snout on my first floor landing! Perhaps it was fleeing the cold weather outside?  (Tim H)
