Night of 27/12. Last night's lowlights in the
Pegwell trap were single Dark Chestnut, Silver Y and LBAM. A truly

A few moths in the traps from overnight – 4 Light-brown Apple Moths,
1 Silver Y, 1 Angle Shades and a Mottled Umber. Still
no December or Winter Moths as yet. (Phil M)

Night of 23/12. A lepidopteron bonanza at Kingsgate. Who needs
lavish Christmas gifts when you get such jewels as Turnip, Angle
Shades, Silver Y, LBAM and Emmelina monodactyla? Hmm - I think

18th December 2006 Newington Thanet
I hadn’t even bothered to check the back garden moth traps for the past
few nights but after spotting a Dark Chestnut sitting on the path
next to one of the traps I opened them up to find 2 Silver Y's and
2 Light-brown Apple Moths. Very little going on recently a Silver
Y on the 11th the last macro moth I’ve taken plus a few Apple
Moths and a single Emmelina

Night of 15/12. The only moths were in the Kingsgate trap, where
there was 1 December Moth, 3 Silver Ys and 1 Diamond-back.

Thursday 14th December 2006 Kingsgate Trap
Night of 13/12. The nightmare continues! In the Kingsgate trap
this morning, a bewildering 5 Silver Ys, along with singles of Satellite,
Dark Chestnut, Angle Shades, Rusty Dot, and
Emmelina monodactyla. (F Solly)
Night of 12/12. Excitement continues to know no bounds at the
moth trap and it would seem that I counted my Christmases too soon on the
1st. At times, I didn't know where to look as the Pegwell trap produced
one delectable delight after another. The magnificent haul consisted of; 1
December Moth, 1 Dark Sword-grass, 1 Pearly Underwing, 1
Silver Y, 1 Rusty Dot, 1 LBAM and you guessed it - 1

Night of 1/12. A mothing extravaganza at Kingsgate - it was like all my
Christmases at once. 1 December Moth, 1 Red-green Carpet, 1 November
Moth, 1 Lesser Yellow Underwing, 2 Brick, 1 Angle
Shades, 2 Silver Y, 1 Diamond-back, 4 LBAMs, 1 Rusty
Dot, 1 Amblyptilia acanthadactyla and 1 Emmelina
monodactyla. Barely able to contain my excitement; off to the
Pegwell trap which only contained 1 Lesser Yellow Underwing, 2 LBAMs
