Monday 10th April 2006 Pegwell Moth Trap

Moths (barely) in a Moth trap - what next! Only went to the Pegwell trap at 2.15pm as I was passing. In full sun and a cold night, I assumed it would be empty. 2 Hebrew Character, single Small Quaker, Common Quaker, Clouded Drab and Oak Beauty. Of note for Thanet was a Lead-coloured Drab - something of a rarity here but the 2nd record this year and one last year may indicate a presence nearby.  (F Solly)

Sunday 9th April 2006 Garden Dumpton Thanet

Night of Saturday 8th April 2006 to125MV light trap 1 Early Grey, 1 Hebrew Character, and Night of Friday 7th April to125MV light trap 1 Angel Shades. (Gadget)

Friday 7th April 2006 Garden Newington Ramsgate

The mothings still awful - I still haven’t caught an Early Grey yet and I’ve only caught 2 Hebrew Characters this past week. The only newsworthy stuff (garden wise - these moths are common around the proper habitat) has
been singles of Twin-spot Quaker and Small Quaker plus a single Shoulder Stripe, which is a new moth for the garden - believe it or not? Rubbish - cack - poop. Ta ta. (Phil M)

Sunday 2nd April 2006 Leaf mines

Leaf mines collected in the autumn, adults emerged in late March.  Phyllonorycter kleemannella from Alder leaves - Stodmarsh and Phyllonorycter heegeriella from Oak leaves  - Church Wood. (F Solly)

Sunday 2nd April 2006 Garden Elvington

14 Hebrew Character, 2 Common Quaker, 1 Early Grey, 1 Oak Beauty plus 1 Emmelina Monodactyla.  (TRP)
